I brought myself some garden lights
To stick out in the yard.
Ya know those solar powered ones
Their operations not too hard.

I brought them at the discount store
And I feel like such a dork.
Cause when I put them in the yard
The bastards wouldn't work.

Well I stuck them in the sunlight
For days week after week.
I don't know what's wrong with them
Things sure are looking bleak.

I fiddled with the switches
And checked out the solar screen.
I thought "What a waste of money"
They ripped me off, I feel so mean.

I was gonna chuck them in the bin
Yeah they're useless it's no doubt.
Then a friend of mine said “Hang on girl
Wait till I check them out”

She pulled the top end cover off
While I sat and had a fag.
Then I looked on in disbelief
As she pulled off the lockout tag.

Well the lights are working great now
I feel like a stupid blond haired bitch
Cause if you want the things to work
You gotta turn on the bloody switch .
