The End

Post by Bob Pacey » Tue Jul 05, 2011 8:16 pm

State Of Origin Three

Can you hear that distant rumble
It’s slowly building to a roar
Feel the passion and emotion
It will thrill you to the core.

This is it, the time has come
Our team will rise above the pack
The battle lines are set in stone
There can be no turning back.

The blues are primed and ready
They feel their time is drawing near
But when you gaze into their eyes
You see a look of utter fear.

They know their task is futile
As they face this deadly dark
They fear the history and the passion
Of Queenslands own Lang Park.

Their hands will shake and tremble
And their skin will start to crawl
Their legs will slowly turn to jelly
As they hear that Queensland call.

Tricky Ricky thinks they’ve found it
But it’s just like the Holy Grail.
When we put their ticker to the test
Their plan is sure to fail.

For the warriors have gatherer
And it’s a beast the Blues can’t tame
They will take the field with honour
For Darren Lockyers final game.

For the passion that we play with
Is a trait they love to hate.
And they just cannot duplicate
The pride we have in this great state.

There will be no quarter given
And the division’s neat and clean.
You’re either with us or against us
There can be no in between.

Six in a row will be a dynasty
A Blue nightmare, not a dream
The best that New South Wales can offer
Slaughtered by Queenslands champion team.

Evening Bob,

I guess I can only hope that there IS slaughter on both sides and then there will be one less football series dominating our TV programming.

I feel your passion Bob . . . but brace yourself for disappointment.

I can see your point, Zondrae . . it's one game where 13 blokes run into another 13 blokes for 80 minutes, yet for weeks every angle of it's been repeatedly over-analysed in the media.

Do they have a State Of Origin in opera Nev. Now that would be a sight.

Yes Vic the poem has been published in two local papers today and did a live cross to the local radio station today. all good promotion for Bush Poetry.

Sorry Zondrae I could say the same about ukuele players but opps they failed !!!!

Marty the banter and the fun that go with the series is unique. We have so much fun at the park with all the visitors it is a worthy promotion.

I will say though. If you are gonna crow you must be prepared to eat craw sometime.

Ah Maureen I knew you would be in there. Dogs come up very nicely with Maroon dye and it washes out.

Gotta go cause I just got a call from work the sewerage is blocked up and overflowing ( all those vics and nsw tourist )

I'm with Neville, (and Zondrae) glad there actually are alternatives. Nothing so exciting as the opera around here, but it's times like this that I'm grateful for Foxtel, even though it's mostly old rehashed TV shows. Better than old rehashed football any day.

Ducking for cover now.

Afternoon Bob, and everyone else.

I should think it below my intelligence to partake of this pointless banta but it is fun.
(and most importantly I can take as much as I dish out and not get offended - it's all in fun)

Now don't tell me it's not fun. Having 26 silly boys chasing a odd shaped ball round a grassy park with thousands watching.. it's got to be a joke! Surely someone's mother could find another ball so they didn't have to fight over it.

and on behalf of all Ukulele players.... at least we make people smile! and want to sing along. :D
