Neville I was trying in my subtle female way to portray that even the most ordinary harmless looking old gentleman frequent Adult Only shops..who would think the pensioner with his bag full of fruit and veggies would do such a thing :o The message Mabel was holding was meant to depict the hidden pleasures that would be theirs were they to buy and the storm clouds approaching to depict the trouble his Mum would give him were she to find out where he had been.

This is why so many male/female relationships come to grief -   you guys just suck at getting the subtleties of the female mind ...now I am doing a Glennie and 'flouncing' out in a huff :?

How do you get away with not going to the mower shop Ross??? I seem to be at mine regularly which is how come I knew where the Adult shop was

When we were kids we knew all about the bees and the birds. No1 the birds made a hell of a racket in the morning and No 2 The Bee’s (mom or dad) either gave you a clip under the ear or you got stung by the other type and the most daring thing that we did was give Shelia
a cuddle when the light were out in the modern waltz.
OH those were the days the innocence, of it all. When we were young we new b **rer all, Now when you get to my age you can't remember

Hi Maureen,
Your thirteen year old isn't alone in the mysticism of puberty then. At least your young man realised the importance of Cartoons everyone knows what they are about. As for the "shop" at least he knows 'what's inside' and not all the boys and grown  men know that! As long as nobody recognised him coming out of the shop he's safe!

And, as for these guys, why would they acknowledge they have actually crossed the threshold of such an interesting establishment.
Vulnerable? Not on your life,

Thanks for the poem Maureen, well done, I remember the valley very well, sometimes toooo! well, I used to 'hang around' there when in my early teens, the vacant lot above the nunery was a popular meeting place, or those dark laneways where the shooters were, I had a couple of friends who did, but I stuck with my bottle of vodka (luckily) I also remember the young 'trainee' ministers bringing 'gifts' like money or booze looking for a young boy for the night, some boys would run, but some would go with them lured by the money or grog or both, yes I remember the Valley.

Just thought I would let you know in case someone else might be after a bargain - I drove past the mower shop yesterday and the shop mentioned here had a sign outside - it said 'Adults -all half price' Always love a sale so thought I might go and check out the merchandise. Never know I might be able to find one who is into Ramps - now that would be right handy.   Don't you just love EOFYS. ;)

Day All,
Reminds me of a poem I have at home about blondes in 'the Valley', but I am in steamy Tokyo at the moment so I can't put my finger on it until I back.
