ANOTHER KRISTALLNACHT?







The attic was full but nobody was home and he seemed to not hold good intentions.
Mob rule was the thing that was driving him now – a release of hidden racial tensions.
He thought not at all of the reasons or rights, nor questioned the violence unleashed on this night
he trashed, robbed and torched then took cowardly flight.
Just a release of his inner feelings.


Not for one minute did he give a thought to the man whose life he was destroying
or of those folks that would now be out of work for a business destroyed isn’t employing
The shopkeepers store now was burnt to the ground. His stock had been stolen, nothing to be found
after fire had burnt everything left to brown.
The intruder was kept busy stealing.

The window cleaner too was out of a job – for the fire had seen all windows shatter.
Who cared that he was down to his last bob and had three kids to raise? Doesn’t matter.
He stood on the outside sadly looking in – through a looking glass darkly – at the fire within
and he wondered now just what would happen to him,
unemployment was less than appealing.


It seemed on that day doors were closing all round, what took place seemed to be in slow motion.
There were loud sirens screeching, and flashing blue lights..all around there was signs of commotion
And there were the ones who in curiosity stood and watched unbelieving at this travesty
of man’s inhumanity to man set free.
No winners save for those who kept stealing.

The world waits and watches, now holds bated breath to see if this can turn around.
For the pictures have been flashed all around the world – and a quick solution must be found.
There’s a timetable now, an agenda it seems, to re-establish harmony. Can’t bring back dreams.
They’re not playing to lose. None are venting their spleen
but the courts will not be softly dealing.

Kristallnacht they called it in nineteen thirty eight when the Nazi‘s began to burn and pillage.
their pretext for the pogrom a diplomat shot in Paris – not some local village
Then Joseph Goebbles spoke to Hitler his mate – who urged reprisals to show Nazi hate
of people who did not deserve such a fate.

Scarey the way they are brainwashed. Gees I'm glad I had a tough old rooster for a Dad.


We were not game to put a foot wrong if there was any chance he would find out.

Just on your last question Maureen, I think events in England were very different from the Nazi " Kristallnacht ".
The events of 1938 were carefully staged political tactics to achieve a larger political strategic goal. The events in England look like a breakdown of what has been called " the social contract "; that is, the willingness of the majority of people to abide by the law by a sort of community goodwill.
Now if it could be shown that some manipulating political force was behind the Toxteth etc. events, that would indeed be a dangerous development for Western democracies.
