GOOD FOR A LIFETIME

Post by Maureen K Clifford » Wed Sep 28, 2011 7:33 am

Nothing is forever. Not life, not love, not dreams.
We merely live on borrowed time or so to me it seems.
So what pray tell does 'Lifetime Guarantee' seek to imply.
For once whatever 'tis has died, no life does one espy.

So live just for the moment and with life get engaged.
Live life quite outrageously. Happy you've laughed and raged.
You may as well for what they're worth, write guarantees in sand.
The tide will wash the words away. Their promises won’t stand.

There are no guarantees in life, no definite conclusions.
Life is full of mystery, suspense and some illusions.
We'd all like a happy ending. A sugar coated pill
But life is not a bit like that; it won't bend to your will.

I've been recycled and reused and time is running out.
I've seen the good as well as bad; of one thing I've no doubt.
When day is done and night time falls and from life I've departed.
My lifetime guarantee runs out and it won’t be restarted.

No use in taking failed goods back. A waste of time to rant and rage.
Or pointing out the guarantee that's written on the page.
Useless to claim false advertising though you think that you could.
The Lifetime guarantee has lapsed..It's died...it's now no good.

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.
