Buttons

Buttons there. Buttons here.
In a circle. In a sphere.
Made of plastic. Made of bone.
In the gutter, on a throne,
You'll find a woman or a man
With buttons black or white or tan
Or blue or red or pink or green.
Buttons ev'rywhere are seen.
Buttons here. Butttons there.
Buttons made of camel hair.
On pyjamas. On a coat.
Stretching up from waist to throat
On a shirt. Whoops! I missed
The buttons placed at either wrist.
Shirts that cost a pretty dollar
All have buttons at the collar.
Buttons square. Buttons round.
Buttons falling on the ground.
Buttons hanging by a thread,
Or popping off. (I'm too well fed!)
Buttons getting in the way
When fumbling lovers want to play,
And in those buttons, demons lurk.
They stall me when I'm late for work!
Buttons loose. Buttons tight.
(Can't do up, try as I might!
Hurt my fingers. Dent my skin.
Mustn't let the buttons win!)
Buttons targets for my wrath.
Tartan buttons made of cloth.
Buttons old. Buttons new.
Buttons quite a joy to view.
Buttons dandy. Buttons smart.
Buttons like a work of art.
Button mushroom. Button nose.
Button anything, I s'pose
That's cute and fun and round and small.
In turn, they frustrate and enthrall.
Buttons are a crazy trip,
But sometimes I just want a zip!

True in every bit Stephen now if I could just figure out how to sew the little buggers back on !!!

That would be a real miracle.
