Kym Put them all in there girl. You can write a little story about the poem and why you wrote it as that helps get the reader in the right state of mind. Now I never had the problem of prize winning poems cause you have to buy a ticket to win and as you know my reputation is shot anyway. ring me as soon as its published so I can get in first.

You are on a winner no matter what you do.

Cheers Bob

Yeah it was some real talented chick from out near access seven who I'm gonna get up on stage at the next poetry night to perform even if I have to kidnap her to get her there.

Thanks Kym

Kym
I’ve had a day out today and nearly missed ya, where have you been mate, please put all your funnies in as well, if you are aiming at the ordinary punter you need to mix them up a bit, so you have some light reading in amongst the technical correct, instead of making different sections you could just insert under the title any awards won by the poem. Just think it was the fun stuff that made it to 12 pages.

AAhhh Kym,

It just hit me (gee I can be slow), I have three books. 1 'Through a Mother's Eyes', 2 'Mt Kembla to Lightning Ridge' (Mining and adventure) and 3 'Under Aussie Skies'. I offer them either singly or as a set. Almost everyone buys the set. (I am working on a 'Most Awarded') Other than in the blurb on the back of the book, I haven't differentiated between winners and others. I have had as much positive feedback about the 'crook' ones as I have had about the more successful ones.

G/day Kym,
I haven't had time to read all your replies, but I reckon a mixture is the way to go. We're all different with different tastes, this way there will be something for everybody, besides don't they say that variety is the spice of life, or something like that.

Cheers Kym I hope it goes well which ever way you go.

Morning all,

Yes Terry, I agree with you. I had a gent come up to me and said he bought my first two books a while back (and wanted the third) and had sent one of them to his son in New Zealand for one poem in particular. That poem was, in both subject matter and writing style, a bit suspect and almost went in the bin. So every poem that the author has needed to put on paper will appeal to someone else. (I gave him another copy of book two, so he still has the set.)

Kym I reckon you write some really good moving stuff . . almost like you're a removalist - and I don't really know you, but I reckon you're at your best when you're being about as serious as a room full of jockeys with helium balloons. What a trilogy; I can just see it - Grandad, The Streaker and The Trouser Snake!

Goodonya

Marty
