THE END OF HOPE

Pressing on through the thorns and the thickets
where the storm never ceases to blow,
little knowing about the unseen;
still, our faith builds on that which we know.
What has happened confirms what will be.
For the ending of hope is arriving,
the ending of faith is to see.
Now, we follow the faint questing tracks
where the hopeful before us have trod,
to eat of the fruit of the Tree of Life,
that stands in the Garden of God.
