Great Idea,
Most of us seem to be in the same boat, in fact I'd guess there are very few who are really on top of it.

I liked David's example, I've learned something already!

Consider getting a copy of The Little Green Grammar Book by Mark Treddinick ,UNSW Press 2009 or the book Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation. by Lynne Truss.
If you want to learn " correct " grammar .

or better

... You are What you Speak by Robert Lane Greene (Black Inc 2011 ) who wages a bit of an anarchic war on those he calls grammar grouches, he says " language isn't just rules and words, but communication. "

Maybe it's a Briggs's typo, Marty ;) :)

morning all,

As I didn't have the pleasure of having a Grandma, I guess I have really missed out. Not only confused by the language but also no Lamingtons! ( Haw haw , hee, hee - my spell check offered Laminations, laming tons, or laming-tons as the correct spelling )

I'll try to get hold of that book. Also, I believe they are re-introducing grammer into schools these days.
