G'day Maureen . . . I know your output is fairly prolific, but by the sounds of it - how this one just "fell out" . . . it is a gift. It's a great read.

Cheers, Marty

Maureen I read this about three time and again out loud just to finish off and I really have to say you have outdone yourself, A great story of what mateship is all about.

Congratulations and yes it is a winner.

G'day Maureen,

This is a shining example and proof of what I tell my writers group. If you write a lot, you must become a master of the craft. We are all in agreement that this is a diamond with need of a little polish.

I have the pleasure of rubbing elbows with Eric Bogal from time to time. While I can't say I know him, I may have the opportunity to speak to him in the near future. I'll pm you should the chance come up. Problem with songs is that to make any money you need to write what you record. I guess he writes a great lyric himself and I'm not too sure is he uses other peoples work.

Now, now

Would I say something like that? Surely you know me better.

Thanks Jim I appreciate your comment.

Just thought I would share this with our mob as well...I have often read on here that free verse and blank verse sites don't want to know about Bush Poetry, and won't give it a second look. Some may well take that approach but I am a member of a UK site where Bush Poetry stands out like a sore toe and they have always given my work a fair go, both my free verse and Bush Poetry as well as Haiku and prose and pretty well anything else I might stick at them, and they just awarded this the POTW award which was a thrill. Trying to improve on this one though as it has inconsistencies. ;)
