That is Why © Bill Williams

Does your life now sing a song?
As the world slowly moves along
A song that only you know
When you watch the fire glow

When time don’t mean a thing
With it’s quickly beating wing,
And all the world goes rushing by
Is that, what really makes you try?

To be a person and not a fool
Like you carried on at school
But that time, has now gone by
You’ve seen the light that’s why.

Of endless study and work not play,
It’s another morning and another day?
You’ll struggle hard to make it work,
Of sweat and worry, you’ll not shirk

But time has past those years are gone
And by the fire you’ll sit and ponder on
You’ll think of all that’s pasted on by
That is your memory, so please, don’t cry

Old age does get a bit lonely Bill, plenty of people don't want to know an old bloke. I speak from experience. ;)

Lovely Bill - you captured the moment - its amazing what sitting in front of an open fire does, people really seem to open up, must be the relaxing, soporific flicker of the flames that does it.

Oh Neville us oldies have got to stick together and talk amongst ourselves. The beauty of getting older is you can say it like it is without fear or favour and blame it on senility

The two best places to sit and muse; beside a campfire or alongside a gentle flowing stream. These places open the windows to our souls.
A good read Bill.

All fun aside Bill I can see a great improvement in what you are writing and it is good to see.

What's that old saying about an old dog learning new ticks.

keep at it mate

Bill, thanks for this one.

But remember - get bolder as you get older.

"Best regards"
