Re: The Kembla Flame
Funny you should say that Bob,
I was stuck in a lift with 14 other Ukulele players for 15 minutes yesterday. And yes, we did play a few tunes to pass the time. One of the blokes (probably aged in his 70) said softly to me. "Don't be concerned if you feel something hard pushing against your back. It is only my Ukulele". to which I answered "and I bet your wife would not believe you if you said you had a younger woman pressing her body up against you."
What a laugh. We were at a re-hab hospital to entertain. In the end the nurse who was with us borrowed a mobile and phoned the nurses station and asked her to try pushing the button to open the door from the outside and it worked.

Re: The Kembla Flame
Zondrae, are you trying to tell us the bloke who was pushing hard against your back didn't want to open the door from the outside himself?
(Well done with the photo, by the way. Beautiful looking trophy.)

Re: The Kembla Flame
Good oh Bob,
The new ones are all keen. Util they settle in then you find our they are really all politicians under the disguise.
Anyway lets hope he gets something done before he runs out of puff.
I have just cleared my speaking calendar for August. (I was booked to address a local View Club) So it looks like we will be coming north again. I received the flyer about the Village Festival. I guess you will be organising the poets again, yes (?) I'll check out the exact date and see if I can organise passing through to coincide with the festival. I was trying to get to the Wintermoon this year but May was a bit early.

Re: The Kembla Flame
Zondrae, I notice in the 'conditions of entry' for the Kembla Flame that poems must not have been published before in written form. Does that mean we can post them on the forum?

Re: The Kembla Flame
Zondrae, can you tell me how to publish bush verse for profit? I've been paid for the publication of a lot of poems for children in the past, but I don't recall ever being paid for a poem for adults! Perhaps you're just referring to self-publication?
