I don't know if I feel safer with that photo if it was taken in the scrub - no doubt that had something to do with the shrieks from the Scrubby - good job it is a good sized leaf.

update,

I just had a call from Fiona ABC FNQ, she is going to record an interview with me tomorrow to play on Wednesday during the programme that will announce the winning poem. While she will be asking me about my interest in bush poetry there will be someone live on the day who will read my poem. It is a pity I won't be able to hear the broadcast. I am still yet to hear someone else 'do' one of my poems.

Oh well I suppose we have to have something to look forward to.

We have a poets breakfast this Sunday 15th at which time the winner of 'The Kembla Flame(c)' will be announced.

Surprise, surprise,

I had another call from Fiona, to advise me I have taken second place. I am thrilled. I can call into the ABC FNQ offices next Monday (when we are in Carnes) and pick up my trophy.

BTW I have mailed Certificates etc (Kembla Flame) today.

G'day Neville,

I don't think me saying I had been officially advised of a place is announcing results. As Marty said, it had already been on the radio which is more widely broadcast than on our humble website. In this case I am not an onlooker who is relaying second hand information. I don't think I have broken any rules. Gee, you don't like a girl to have a little celebration, do you.
