New event at Binalong
Further to my post about Wombat being on every second month, the Binalong connection have decided to hold an event on the alternate months to Wombat. That means there will be poetry somewhere in the district on the 4th Sunday of every month, either at Wombat or Binalong.
The Binalong gig will be on Sunday afternoon, 2-4 at the Top Shop. Open mike, hot food, soft drink, coffee and cake for sale. BYO wine, beer etc.
All welcome.
Kicks off Sunday September 23 at 2pm.
Binalong is between Yass and Harden, an hour and a bit from Canberra, not far from the Hume Highway, so not far off the beaten track.
Would love to see forum members there - if you are travelling through let me know!
Cheers

Do you find that you get a lot of outside public attending Robyn, We started a group up a couple of years back but it died a slow death as most in attendance were performers or family but not many others.

Heather - thanks
Bob - yes we get a fair number of family and friends, but we get other audience as well. I'm sure all these things have a life span, but as the energy goes from one area, maybe it pops up in another!
Manfred - lovely poem Manfred, and obviously close to my heart, particularly as one of the poems I say is How Gilbert Died, which an 'expert' has told me is not historically accurate, but I like to think it's the version Paterson heard as a child at school in Binalong.

Re: New event at Binalong
Sorry I can't be there Robyn,
But that day (23/9) 'The Swingaleles' are holding a Ukulele festival at Fairy Meadow. I am in two items as well as working as stage hand for a short while. It is free to the general public and there will be about 150 players on the programme. Workshops will be held and everyone is encouraged to bring along their Uke. There will be a Tiny Tim Look and sound alike contest and much more... including performances by several Virtuosoes.
