GOSFORD BUSH POETS
Good Morning Everyone,
Well...............what a flat-out cracker of a night it is going to be when the Gosford Bush Poets meet at 7pm next Wednesday night (31/10) at the Gosford Hotel, Mann Street, Gosford!
Through sheer serendipity, happy circumstance and unimaginable good luck we have managed to entice one of this country's top bush poets to appear as our very very special guest artist!
Gary Fogarty is renowned throughout the country music and bush poetry scenes as not only a gifted writer, presenter and performer of bush poetry, but also as an incredibly talented compere; announcer; corporate speaker; song writer; entertainer and raconteur! Gary, who hails from the sunny state of Queensland, regularly appears at the Tamworth Country Music Festival; The Gympie Muster and virtually every other major similar festival and event. Gary is the winner of numerous competitions and awards and we are indeed very fortunate to be able to present such a wonderful artist at the Gosford Bush Poets. Gosford I know you have heard me say it before, but with the appearance of Gary, next Wednesday night will be a marvellous evening of fine poetry, much fun and great entertainment at the GBPs and a night you certainly should not miss!
Entrance as always will be entirely free and everyone is encouraged to bring along their own or their favourite poem.
We would dearly love to see you join us for dinner in the hotel's brilliant bistro from about 5.30pm before we adjourn upstairs.
Very Best Regards,
Vic Jefferies

Re: GOSFORD BUSH POETS
I hope it goes well, Vic.
I hope you have a full house.
I hope goodly amounts of coffee, tea, alcohol and food are consumed.
I hope people are moved to tears of joy - and tears of pathos.
I hope people are bound by good fellowship, a celebration of the human spirit, and a compassion for their fellow man.
I hope the status of rhyming verse is once again confirmed as a premier art form.
I hope people vow to meet each other more often.
I hope people leave in a more open and less judgemental frame of mind.
I hope the pub does such good business it says you are welcome to meet there as often as like.
I hope the traffic is light both to and from the venue, and nobody has an accident, or suffers from any road rage.
I hope there is a glorious sunset on the way to the pub, and that the stars blaze fiercely in a crystal clear sky on your return.
I hope all those who attend arise the following morning with an extra spring in their step, and an added zest for life.
Most importantly of all, I hope people say, "By jingo, that was so good, it was almost as good as the Toolangi CJ Dennis Poetry Festival!"

Good On You Stephen and apart from the reference to the CJ Dennis Festival and the weather that is usually pretty much how the Gosford Bush Poets meetings usually go!

Re: GOSFORD BUSH POETS
Just as was predicted it was a fantastic night of great fun and fine poetry at the Gosford Bush Poets on Wednesday night with over fifty people in attendance. Nineteen local poets presented their own or their favourite works before Gary Fogarty showed us all why he is regarded as one of the best bush poets in the land. Gary performed a wonderful selection of his own and traditional works interspersed with some very funny yarns and tall tales and charmed us all with his sheer skill and ability. It was truly a grand night and we look forward to seeing Gary return to the GBPs.
The last meeting of the GBPs for 2012 will be held at the Gosford Hotel, Mann Street, Gosford at 7pm on Wednesday 28 November. Entrance is totally free, everyone is welcome to present a poem on the night and we would love to see you!
