Stan the man rang Nev – the plan to see was Santa in the can
at Bourke – Christmas time ninety four – the kids assaulted Santa for
taking too long to hear their pleas for bikes and skateboards – they’d no need
for socks or god forbid new undies – that’s why Stan rang and not Reg Grundy.
The tooth fairy was not his mate for he would not participate
in fol-de-rol and Christmas cheer he merely planned a nice cold beer
and perhaps turkey that was stuffed or fresh king prawns and right enough
he had heard it was Christmas time but bah, humbug was Toothies rhyme.

Wanna join the anti-Christmas league Neville?  I reckon we could fit you in. ;)

Cheers

Maureen

Anti-Christmas (was it really the kids who gave Santa a flogging - or was it the Plod  ) anti-football . . . . it starts tomorrow, Nev - I hope you like cricket?

Nice one, Maureen.

There's no doubt that Christmas is a tough time for a significant percentage of the population. Some people are 'scapegoated' by their families (the 'black sheep') and Christmas, when families are supposed to get together and have a joyful time, can be very tough.

Then, of course, there are the people who simply have no families. It's tough for them, too.

If you are fortunate enough to have a healthy, caring family, Christmas can be the best time of the year. If not, it can be the worst.

[quote="warooa"] I hope you like cricket?

I can only refer you to my post in the yarns section entitled " I hate Cricket" ;)

I reckon Stephen that healthy caring families are a boon all year round.

I don't think I was suggesting otherwise, Neville.
