Things start to come together Glenny. Lots of friends and support for you and Croc. Whenever and whatever I'll be there, the poetry gods willing.

G'daay again Mal,
Aren't they/you just wonderful? I must admit though, that I am getting a tad anxious about having folks organise themselves around our needs, & the expense to them of having to travel so far. And by April croc could be needing 24/7 hands on care, so I don't know what sort of a hostess I will be able to be. I guess I am (naturally) prone to becoming more anxious than normal under our current pressurised situation, so I will just have to pull up my socks & hold tighter to the belief that this could work. (I don't know about it becoming 'the biggest & best poetry event in Oz' though, IRene...bless you.)

Ta again Mal.

Hey Martyboy... Pyropus Crocodilus..  You're hilarious! But I doo like 'The Bronze Crocodile'. You will be sorely missed mate. (being the strapping young muscle bound youth that you are.. )
The sports club out here has a HUGE screen for when State of Origin is on so maybe they'd let us play your horsey vid on that? Ideas. Ideas....more each day.
Anyway mate, I'd feel awful to drag someone out here from so far away. I initially had in mind maybe a few poets from areas not too far away from Theodore.
Ever onward....we'll see 'how the mop flops' as Mannie would say.

Cheeers, & mega thanks
Glenny

Sorry to hear croc is not up to speed Glenny - bit of a low blow that one - but many hands make light work and sure all will do what they can to assist, even if unable to attend in person. The town hotel/motel could be exceedingly grateful to you for the increase in business around April

The idea of a fund raising raffle sounds workable - could we advertise that through the next ABPA magazine perhaps??? Could each active member of ABPA sell a couple of tickets??? For the prize/s perhaps a collection of donated books and CD's (wouldn't need many) to make up 3 prizes and would be sure that our poets who are able to would be happy to donate - and we have the CD that Bill put together of a few of us that I am sure could be used.

The monies raised could be put to use paying for an end loader, or a ditch digger or whatever equipment or whatever else you might
need at that particular moment to simplify things up there for you and croc.

Happy to help as and where I can Glenny but doubt I will make it up there physically :( although never say never

Blessings to you and croc - stay strong mate

Cheers

Maureen

oooh I'm running behind posts by 6 laps here...Thank you Stephen. What is the word for one who always has a clever & witty 'other angled' view of a subject?...I can't bring it to mind, but that's what I reckon you are, anyway, mate...'possum's friend' indeed. I had 7 only mangoes on my big tree (the sun burnt the little new fruits when they came out). Of the 7 I now have 5...struggling to ripen. Joey Poss...the little *@%$ has munched out 2 of the whole harvest!! So now I am given to stalking around in the dark tryyying to get a sugar bag over my paltry remaining fruit...AND the little blighter runs riot in my ceiling as well. 'Friend' indeed? If croc's trigger finger was still working he'd be leather boots by now (the possum that is).
Thanks again Stephe

Hellooo Mausey. I'm getting vertigo here trying to keep up with you all....Thanks heaps love. Lots of good ideas. But I must say now that I've gone & advertised the working bee idea I'm getting nervous about troubling so many good folk. It feels queer to ask for help like this...but I'm trying to be good & keep faith that I can see it through to a successful end. At least we'll all have a bonza party I guess. There's a bobcat bloke out here who owes me a day, but croc reckons I'm 'doing something' in the wind if I think he'll turn up....we'll seee about that. But you're right in saying I will need 'stuff.' The bobcat bloke has an auger & I'll need some posts put in...& some cement...& lumber for a little stage...& croc's old high side ute can cart stuff away...and I've got an 8 x 5 trailer. Dunno if we'll be able to tackle painting the antique caravan, but it's all cleaned out inside now. The boys brought me home a dozen metal stacking chairs from the dump...yay!...That CD Bill put out would be bonza in a raffle basket. We'd be overjoyed to have you here but I fully understand the difficulties. Ta again for your kind support Maureen. xx

Hey Martyboy...thanks again mate. I'm hurrying here to catch up my 6 laps...you know the feeling? :P
That would be nice...just unusual for me (& I don't get any chance to 'practice' being waited on. ;) ) xx

Glenny i am just a tad worried about April but can't quite put my finger on it as our site calendar is bare. There is Oracles 4-7/4/13 which I am commited to for group boooking reasons. (about 20 this year I think). When are those southern mountain lot having their festival? I think it's April. Maybe some member with a good handle on these things can help sort a date. In any event April May June etc whatever will bring up the coldie oldies from the deep south. ;)

I checked out the Junction camping ground. Beautiful spot. I also checked out the Theodore Hotel in detail. A word to all potential travellers....book early as it was full with power line blokes, miners and a poet when i was there.
