SHOUT OUT

Post by Maureen K Clifford » Fri Jan 18, 2013 9:53 am

I’ve just been told I’m shouting when I type in letters big
Well all I can say is sorry. Who thought up this bulls**t
The reason I type this way is to see what ‘tis I write
For as I am getting older I’ve no longer good eyesight.

If how I type offends you, my apologies again.
Who knew computer usage had such rules we must attend
with. I know now and promise to improve my capability
Does using bold also offend some sensibility?

It’s like these darn emoticons that keep on popping up,
with little smiley faces used instead of a full stop.
When I was at school none had heard about these things
but now each letter that you read contains their silly grins.

What’s with the smiley faces :D  :? are they meant to make it better?
When someone sends you something in an email or a letter.
Whats wrong with punctuation? At my school that was taught.
Who knew computer usage was so technically fraught?

It’s political correctness to which I will not aspire.
I use the big print ‘cause the small print makes my old eyes tire.
Who was it decided these things? That’s what I want to know
Someone with too much time to waste I’m thinking that is so.

In the current vernacular that is in use today.
Get over it – go build a bridge is all that I can say.
So! Upper case or lower case, when shove comes down to push
I’ll type just how I want to. I’m an old f—t from the bush.

Written very tongue in cheek and from memory one of the first poems I posted anywhere on line after some one had a shot at me for a response I had put up written totally in upper case. Oh the shame   I was mortified (not)  It struck me as being bloody ridiculous that some digital letters on a digital page could offend someone - get a life, build a bridge, find something important to whine about was my immediate thought and still is...what does it matter how it is written it is the act of communicating with others that is important and if people read more into it than what is there, well......not my problem ;)

Turn your hearing aid up Marty :P

Cheers

Maureen
