Whilst sitting, reading in the library, I came across this poem in an English Children's Poetry Book. Love it!! Gonna learn it. It was signed 'anonymous'. Don't know why!
Grandma And The Council Man
"Punch his teeth in!" yelled Grandma
"Punch him hard in the eye!
Chuck him out of the window
It's only ten stories high!"
"But Gran, it's the man from the Council
He's shown you his badge and ID
You can't go round beating up people.
Let's all have a nice cup of tea!"
"I've come," said the man from the Council
"Because of the noise from your flat.
Your neighbours are always complaining
Now what do you say about that?"
"I'll kick your teeth in!" yelled Grandma
"I'll punch you hard in the eye
I'll chuck you out of the window!"
"Oh yes?" said the man "you just try!
"You will have to turn down that rock music
Stop the parties that go on all night
Give up breeding rats and machine gunning bats."
But Gran said "Why? I knows me rights.
"I'm just a defenceless old lady
In a very few years I'll be gone.
I have just a few simple pleasures
And bashing officials is one!"
So I kicked in his teeth while old Grandma
Gave him a belt in the eye
Then we both chucked him out of the window
And leant over and waved him goodbye!

Hi Neil
I'm sure it wasn't written by the original Keats but smacks a little of a modern-day Aussie one. Like it! It is so you!
