Under the rail bridge at Ipswich
on any evening that is fine
there’s a wondrous display
told in a modern way
and the story is really sublime.
From the waters of the Bremer River
a trio emerge’ neath moon shine -
there’s Ippy and Limey
and Stoney and blimey
they’ve captured a small space in time
Did these three leave dinosaur footprints?
Well perhaps. I’m not sure how you’d tell.
There are footprints near our
towns water tower
and a nice park surrounds them as well.
Are there fossilized bones? Oh indeed there are
and other most interesting things.
Well away from the cars
beneath a million stars
you can sit and watch bats on the wing.
As the ancient old river meanders along
well behaved at the moment its true.
Ipswich is my city
a working town pretty
with people who’re really true blue.
