At the risk of being considered over the top (I don't care) I wrote this for one of my gorgeous girls who for those not in the know were both abused dogs with lots of issues, especially Molly - who XRays have shown has been badly beaten and probably kicked before I found her. She now is facing major health issues, as a result most likely of this ill treatment when she was only a young dog. I love her unreservedly and unashamedly but the greatest thing is that it is returned.
My girl

It’s hard for some to understand the love and trust we share
they look at you through different eyes – they do not see the care
that shines so bright, the love so strong,
the happiness, hearts joyful song
the strength to right what was once wrong.
My heart is touched by you…
some see merely a blue.
They cannot judge the heart inside; they’ve never seen its strength.
They don’t see you as my best friend, they keep you at arm’s length.
You have left paw prints on my heart
You’re brave, and loyal and awful smart.
Too many attributes to start
to tell – and each one true.
Molly - my much loved blue.
Life is to be enjoyed we know – but some don’t get that chance.
You never had that in your life – your fear shows in your stance
and yet you try – you want to win
you bravely let your courage in
and gave your trust and learnt to grin;
considered carefully,
then gave your love to me.

Both of them look like they have been in the good paddock Maureen
I have never been without a dog since I can remember in fact I sometimes think I prefer them to people.

The purpose in life is to have fun.
