Walker have also released two internal spreads from my book.

Here they are.

The illustrations have all been done by Lauren Merrick, who works with paper cutting. Lauren is a young illustrator, only recently graduated from TAFE. My book is her first. Again, I did not choose her. Walker did. Having said that, I absolutely love what she has done. The illustration for "If I Was A Sailor" is just gorgeous. We were not allowed to communicate with each other until the book had been completed, which is the way all modern publishers work.

The illustrations are gorgeous Stephen. When is the release expected?

It's coming out in May.

Thanks, Val. It is pretty much the distillation of a lifetime's writing for me, so I do have a pretty heavy emotional investment in it!

Are all the illustrations black and white?

Yes - or grey.
