Hold the Chillis
I bit off more than I could chew ... literally ... at a restaurant one time.
Wazza.
Did you ever decide to eat something fiery?
Something that took your breath clean away?
Something you wish that you never had eaten
when reliving your pain on the throne the next day?
Did you ever say “Hey! I’m game. Let me try it?
I’ll have the special - The ‘Five Chilli’ dish.
And then when you’d taken the very first bite
and you opened your mouth to remark “That’s delish.”
Your eyes filled with water. Your body went weak.
Your throat did a shut-down. You just couldn’t speak
You tried not to scream. You tried not to cry.
You thought “This is it. Dear Lord let me die.”
If you did and the memory’s still there in the end
and you think going back would seem silly
You can still have the five chilli dish and enjoy it
Just remember to say “Hold the chilli.”
I don't know what happened to verse three. It wrote itself before I realized that I'd altered the rhyme scheme but I liked the way it read so I left it that way.

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.

A wise young man from The Ridge
kept his underpants stored in the fridge.
He said " I'm no fool,
they will keep me quite cool
after eating hot chilli and cabbage."
