You're right, Stephen...all that stacks-on-the-mill, lock-it-inside-50-metres stuff sure slows things down. But it's still miles better than the old kick-to-kick in a mud-heap days!

It must be genetic, Wazza. I thought a Queenslander was an old wooden house on stilts?

No, Glenny, RMP won't have time to read this. Right now he'll be worshipping at the new shrine to Mal Meninga that's being unveiled at Lang Park. He could be there for several days, I reckon.

Cheers

Well Stephen it does keep the eye candy on show for longer...Now let's see if I grasp your meaning.

''Righteo lads, listen up! Our objective is to get this oblong thing called a 'ball', from one end of this field to the other, at any cost to life or limb! In order to maintain said life or limb you must first totally exhaust yourselves in ''training''...to withstand repeated assaults upon said apparatus, in their pusuit of stopping us from getting that iconic oblong thing to the other end of the field. This is of National importance!! so bear up!! in the vital interests of your Aussie comrades' ongoing will to live. The fact that you must run like buggery forward and throw that iconic oblong thing backwards should in no way impede your focus on arriving at the other end of the field...regardless of possibly achieving same semi-limbless. Got It?'' At which point a mighty cheer goes up from the team. (Only an Aussie bloke could enthusiastically embrace this proposal.)

ps. Go the Maroons...

Better the oblong thing than a full metal jacket...

Did you ever hear any of the "Poetry Olympics" albums?

Easy to get those numbers when you can drive from one side of the state to another in a couple of hours.

Not quite right, Bob. You'll need almost 11 hours on the road to get from Mallacoota in the east to Portland in the west down here in the sticks. Townsville to Mt Isa takes 10 hours. Distance is pretty much the same. Maybe it just seems longer up your way?

And commiserations on last night. I believe the other mob won. Not surprising. You know what they say about cockroaches.

Cheers
David
