Homework 30.06.14

Post by DollyDot » Mon Jun 23, 2014 4:17 pm

Hi seems ages since I posted anything.
I try to write and then I try to right and have no rite!!!But here it is.

Fire

With fiery breath a racing death
mnemonic glitter razes again.
From mountain top to bush no stop
as it rapes and raids the open plain.

Lethal its path with fiery wrath
an unleashed, unknown capacity.
To beast and tree Death comes you see;
devouring all with rapacity.

Escape? Oh no! This raging foe
Destroys all, takes our most precious things.
Who understands what our God plans
with this dragon’s show of fiery wings?

What can be worse than this evil curse
as I behold earth’s blackened face?
This wily beast has come to feast
on those naïve, with its hot embrace.

The big red truck saves some with luck;
others die within their homes in vain.
Our land we know its love will stow
on all to relieve their searing pain.

Aussies have known and always shown
care and concern for their fellow friend.
From far and wide, on every side
our prayers are with you to the end.

Good on you Dot - and good use of the prompts as well

Might I suggest a tweak to this line

Our land we know its love will stow on all to relieve their searing pain.

to

Our land we know love will bestow on all to soothe their searing pain.

Mainly because the word stow meant to put away and bestow means to give as a gift or a right - which I think is what you are implying.

Not too sure how the word mnemonic fits?

Good effort though

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.
