w/e 22 september

Post by Neville Briggs » Mon Sep 08, 2014 5:22 pm

This one Maureen is an old one recycled.
Inspired by Bob Pacey's foopbaw mania  apologies to Henry Kendall

BALL BOYS

By tackles of cruelness, the players are falling
and out of the big stand I hear the crowd calling.
They live in the hope that their highly paid bruisers
will touch the ball down as the winners ( not losers).
Through gaps in defenders and dodging their clawing,
struggles the halfback; he's over ! he's scoring !
And louder than thunder ( though nothing like singing )
the cheers of supporters are roaring and ringing.

That's a pearler Nev describes rugby Union to a tee.

I said to a bloke one day I really cannot follow the rules for rugby ?

He pulled me up and said there are no rules for rugby . There are the laws of the game.

Just cause I might not like something does not mean I have to be totally ignorant of it, after all I don't like cats but I know about the horrid things.
