Fabulous piccies that really capture the spaciousness and isolation of the place

Yeah Manfred good shots, Just goes to show there is more out there than just sand and fly's, but ya gotta get out there to see it. Don't get out there as much as I would like but going this winter, fingers crossed.

Got a call back to the territory, heading back up in the next couple of weeks I think, you'll know the country Dave, Docker River, Lasseters country...I better try and remember to take a camera, I tend to take that scenery for granted a bit I guess, as beautiful as it is I don't think I have any snaps of it!
I love your photos too Manfred...she's a big country hey.

Thanks Dave, Ross ... Yes, it's a great country alright.
Yes Ross, take your camera. Love that country along past the Cave to Doicker.
I worked out at the met station at Giles when I was with Astor Radio (remember them?). I lucked into joining a team installing a radar unit out there. ...

Re: DAN OF THE DIAMANTINA
I was lucky to go to Giles when all the mess walls were painted with murals by Len Beadell and on another trip I had a facsimile of Lasseter's diary so when we got to Lasseter's cave the whole crew sat around and tried to figure it out at one stage he had Lake Amadeus south of Docker river so we didn't find any gold but we did have a sundowner and moved out in the morning.
