Truth Or Love

Some say I love you but it's just a counterfeit word
just to hold onto something that's fake and absurd.
They promise the world with a gusto for life
when they know that it causes such trouble and strife.

They say they are angels or they will have you believe
there is no life without them no chance for a reprieve.
A dog or a cat could fill that void at a glance
but people smother your world, deny any chance.

You may sing for your supper or so the song said
but a life without love can fill you with dread.
They present a pure image and we accept that it's true
but all humanity is corruptible but that we all knew.

So surround yourself now with those that you love
count all your blessings even those from above.
if you can't do that then why not go the whole hog
don't consider a cat just get yourself a dog.
