Homework week ending 01/02/16 - Willow

Post by Wendy Seddon » Thu Jan 21, 2016 11:20 am

Willow, Willow do not weep
into your ice-burg rose bouquet
don’t let melancholy creep
into your heart to spoil your day.

Priceless diamonds on your hand
embedded in a ring of gold,
cascading stones of brilliant cut
conveying promises of old.

Girlhood dreams are coming true -
white wedding and a loving beau,
Every wish you wished is nigh
why then do the salt tears flow?
Wen de Rhymewriter There is nothing mundane about the ordinary.

Very nice Wendy - reminds me of the old English poets. A trip down memory lane to poetry books of school days!

Cheers

Yes, I agree - really like this Wendy. It intrigues, and has shades of yesteryear as Shelley says.
