Homework July 24 'Black Mary Cockeral' - (a snippet)
BLACK MARY COCKERAL – ( a snippet )
Through the shadowy worn pages of known history, we read,
of Black Mary Cockeral’s famed lifetime and each daring deed.
Of her joining with bushrangers and then turns her hand to crime
yet, this tiny girl would leave giant footsteps, in the sands of time.
But, to me I see the romance – for her heart is of this land;
daughter of the wilderness, so swift of foot and skilled of hand.
And of course, she’s full of mischief, and she has no doubts or fears,
I can hear her laughter pealing even now back through the years.

Why only a snippet ???? Where is the rest of it - come on Terry don't be shy
or were her deeds to dastardly to share with the rest of us.
To paraphrase a lady from Fountain Lakes - 'I likes what I see'
but I want to see more

Sorry Maureen
What with computer problems, and a heap of personal issues to contend with, I just ran out of time.

I do intend to eventually turn this into a more expansive poem - it's a good subject.

A good summary in this poem Terry, with some good teases in your descriptions.
It certainly has the makings for a more lengthy one and as you say 'it is a good subject.'
Cheers mate,
Ron.

Ah, this is great, Terry - loads of potential for a longer poem so I really hope you continue with it!

Thanks Catherine
As mentioned, I ran out of time.
But I definitely have plans for this one,
perhaps in a slightly different setting.
Cheers
