Well, Robert, I clicked on the previous page or two until I found it. You take your mouse, and "click" on a page number and then "read" until you find the right poem.
You are right on Bob, poetry and humour is probably a really good way to get the message out because the men can then have a giggle at an awkward topic openly.

G/day Bob,
I've been down that road as well mate, the GP was bad enough but the Specialist was a nightmare.
These days I realize that was just kids stuff, I have to have a yearly Colonoscopy and wish to god it was just a bl--dy finger mate.

Colonoscopies are easy Terry. They give you a nice little something and you have a lovely snooze and then you wake up all refreshed and it's all over. I don't know what they give you to make you go to sleep but I wish I could have some. It's the stuff you have to drink beforehand that isn't pleasant - well, let's be honest, it's bloody awful. Still, has to be better than bowel cancer doesn't it?

You are right Heather, we have to believe that prevention is better than the disease. But all medical examinations are sooo undignified
One of our bush poets from Singleton won first place at the Harrington Poetry by the Sea when he recited a rather bawdy version of a prostate examination. ( weren't me )
From memory I think it has the line " my heart had a pang when I heard that rubber twang "

Your right again Heather,
Things have changed a bit these days, on my first visit (about 25 years ago) I was awake for the procedure even though I'd had the needle, wanted to keep an eye on what the bugger was up to, they make sure they knock me out nowadays, As for that rotten bowel cleanser you have to drink, you never get used to it, in fact I struggled to get it down in my recent prep. I kept gagging on the bl--dy stuff.
The year seems to fly by and before you know it it's that time again.

Gidday Terry you bet it's a good test. When they ask the other doctor in for a second opinion that's when you start to get worried. Never seem to get used to it though.

G/day Bob,
I'm one of those who have to have polyps removed every year and have had to for many years. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, without this bit of minor discomfort each year I doubt I'd still be here. Everybody should have a precautionary colonoscopy it just might save your life.
Cheers Terry
