Those two verses of Bob and Marty's are interesting.
I was reading a poetry instruction book by one of the " literati " and he explained how poetry is found all round us in our culture. He said that the creative barrackers at cricket or football matches were a great example of spontaneous and entertaining poetry.
One thing ..., I think for our purposes we need to think of something unexpected and new for the content. Sports satirical verses can easily descend into hackneyed and predictable expressions.
And just because jokey sports verses might be considered " lightweight " I don't think that takes away the need to revise and polish up the verse into something that befits our intention to craft works of poetry.
p.s. I was watching the paint dry the other day Zondrae, much more exciting than cricket
