I have always been of the belief that ryming words sound the same, and the same word repeated is not rhyming. But I am no authority on grammar, or the written word in any way shape or form.
Yes, I like the poem, and would possibly recite it if I had the opportunity and the appropriate audience. But I agree that it probably would NOT be acceptable in a written Australian Bush Poetry Competition.
