What's Life Worth?
This is one I wrote when away from home last year,
It is just a little musing on things in general.
What’s Life Worth?

Today I went out to the yard and picked some fruit for me.
prepared it in a bowl – Pawpaw, passionfruit and all free.
Then into this I added apple, coconut and pear
and mixed it all quite carefully then called my dear to share
and then we took a seaside walk and watched a Dolphin play.
I put my toes into the brine, not cold at all that day’.
We walked along the beach some more and found our special spot
to fish for just a little while – until it was too hot.
Then packing up our fishing gear we took a little dip.
I’m scared of water. He stays close and gives a little lip.
“You know that you can swim, why can’t you overcome your fear?”
I hold his hand more tightly and pretend I didn’t hear.
We eat and later when we’re tucked up dozing in our bed
I think about this life I have and where our path has lead.
I’ve never known how hunger feels, nor terror in my life.
My husband is a wonder, I’m so happy I’m his wife.
My children are a source of pride and as for those grand kids,
they make my life worth just about a million, trillion quids.
It is just a little musing on things in general.

Simple things that give the greatest pleasure Zondrae.
I saw a little note yesterday something like.
I'd rather have a hug and I love you today then a milllion tears when I'm gone.
Beautiful poem and sentiments that I know that big tough bloke you are married to would agree with.

The purpose in life is to have fun.
After you grasp that everything else seems insignificant !!!

Sounds like a good life Zondrae. You can't beat life's small pleasures.

You've summed it up pretty well I'd say, Zondrae.
Sometimes we forget just how good life really is.

Nailed it girl - that's what life is all about Zondrae - simple pleasures and being wise enough to value their true worth

Hi There.
I'm back. The very first poem that I read filled me with the feeling that I never left.
Thank you.
The last few years have taught me how good it is to still be here.
There are a lot of new names on the posts.

G'day zondrae,
I've read it, and read it again. I like it a lot. Its personal association to your family and life make it wonderful. It's been a long while since I've stepped foot in the Illawarra district. Sussex Inlet......hmmm and that windy beach was tough to fish off. Fond memories indeed.
Thanks much for sharing.
