Holden V Ford.

Post by David J Delaney » Thu Oct 06, 2011 7:54 pm

G'day all, where I work had a 'promotional' day for the Bathurst race & as usual the Holden v Ford blows came out, I threw this together in between phone calls & getting out orders, there is a 1st half followed by a 2nd half, thus the change in style, the metre and such are way out of whack, but everyone at work & throughout the country seemed to like it.

.......forgot to mention there was about 3 hours between both halves. :D

Holden V Ford.

For all you followers of Fords
Who worship that blue oval thing?
You’ll all fall quickly on your swords
When winning lions stand to sing.

Now Holden’s are Australian mate
And not that re-hashed yanky crap.
So all this time you thought they’re great
They’re better when they’re used as scrap.

So go ahead and shout and gloat
I’m a lifelong follower of red
For while you laugh and act the goat,
We’ll just leave you all for dead.

All over our vast Land of Oz
The battle rages on
About our proud and treasured cars
And those that could have won.

The Aussie racing scene has shown
We like a Holden or a Ford
And when ‘rice burners’ hit the track
We really all become quite bored.

Then there’s weekend warriors
Who tear along our golden sand
Snug inside their hi-rise 4b’s
With small “ego’s” clasped within their hand.

See real men drive V8’s
And one thing that’s for sure,
Out-classing everything that’s said,
You’ll always hear the LION ROAR!!!!

Go the mighty lion!!!!!
