Beautiful, heartfelt and true....but what chance have trees got - like dogs and other animals they don't have a voice :( The fact that we need trees to re oxygenate the air and help remove OUR pollutions seems to escape the thought sensors of those who we elect to look after our nation. Trees also bring in rain another fact that they seem to not know.

Love the poem Marty.

Cheers

Maureen

Good on you Marty a great poem and a good read.
However it really annoys me to see people plant what I call inappropriate trees in exactly the wrong position. Neighbour of mine planted about fifteen gum trees on his suburban block about twenty five years ago when it was obvious that at some time in the future (which happened to be last week) they would become serious threats to his house and would have to be removed.
Similarly the local council in its wisdom planted a row of liquid amber trees on the footpath immediately under the power lines. They now come around every year and hack the tops of the trees leaving them looking like tortured specimens.
Let's keep our great old trees but have a thought to where we plant the new ones.
