Mate, the "General Chit-Chat and Off Topic" in only viewable to members when they are logged on to the Forum. If you're being 'booted' where you are then all I can put it down to is that you're loosing your connection to the Forum. That's probably not much help I know .....

Travel safe ...

G’day Marty...
Er... rain here is a bit like a threat. We need it badly, but we don’t want it in massive proportions. If we could regulate the rain to fall gently at night time, as it should, and not to overpower us like it does, everything would be fine. Just 12 months ago, where I am now typing was 10 feet underwater, and some poor folk have not got back into their houses yet... after 12 months of wrangling with builders and insurance merchants.
However, if you find yourself in the market for a really great ute, 1981 4wd Hylux with a 22R engine, new tyres, clutch brakes all round and much more, please let me know your budget and I’ll risk a downpour.
Go well old mate and stay on top in that there rodeo.

Croc don’t forget the 22r has a repowered dizzy, at this very moment I have the head off my Land cruiser (diesel) this is the first time I’ve had to use a chain block to lift off a head, must be getting to old for this type of s***. Got blown head gasket.

Oh yeah a bit of nice writing.

TTFN 8-)

G'day Dave old mate...
It should have a repowered dizzy but bloody Oz post lost the thing, so me and old mate the mechanic waved a magic wand over an old burnt out ignition igniter that some bloke sent to my missus under the guise of it being 'very good'... b/s... and so now the old girl is back up and running.

I came back from the smoke last week and as I got to the top of the range about 100 from home, a bloody walleroo ran out and darted straight under the ute. It did so much bloody damagere as to be unreal. Bent both tie rrods and there is oil seeping from just abbout every place in the front of the engine it could seep. The shock knocked the back seal out of place in the gearbox and that is leaking oil as well. Aint it a luucky break... I have just picked up a real good contract so there will be money to fix it but not a lot left over.

Those diesel heads are bloody heavy old mate, I know from experience... do the valves while you have it orf, they may seem good but new valves and a re- seating job will exclude having to do it again 10 to 15 k clicks down the track. It's well worth the effort to get the head sufaced as well because one tiny bloody 'bend' in it will blow the gasket again, or it will get an incandescant spot and run on, and there is no telling what can go wrong from there.

Thanks for your words Dave... they mean a fair bit from a genuine bloke like yerself.... see you on the edge of the primordial pond while we watch for those that are about to escape the soup...
Be well mate...

Thanks. It came to me after seeing some extremely bony Brahmans... and seeing how the grass is right up to my eyes and as green as grass (true)... I’m a tad over 6 foot... I figured the poor buggars were dehydrated. Or... seeing as how it’s rained cats and dogs, maybe they needed worming, I dunno; but they sure were bony. I’ll dream one up about skinny Brahmans that need worming.
Stay well.

G’day Maureen...
Thanks for your kind comments. I’ve shot it all out in the first post, so you have my full permission to read Heathers post and then you’ll be ‘in’ on how it was conceived.
Stay well.

G’day Bob...
Yeah mate, I concur wholeheartedly. Thanks Bob. Er... you also have permission to read Heathers post so you’ll be clued in as well. I don’t think Heather is going to mind. I should have saved a bit of it for each reply and then you could all have read each others posts (that would have seemed fairer...) and gleaned it from there but being the rash garrulous buggar that I am , I let it all go in one breath.
Stay well.

Mon chux...
May the gods bless you sweetheart. I checked that meter so many bloody times girl you wouldn’t believe it and even changed the words around to fit... as you do... and then managed to only get 6 feet where there should have been 7. Buggar. Good eyes lovey. Unfortunately, as do the rest, you will have to cast your eyes over Heathers post as well pet. Sorry.
Be safe lovey.

G’day Manfred...
Yeah, it’s been a while since I had both the time and the inclination side by side; it’s been a rough year workwise, what with doing months of volunteer flood relief in places where power and p/c’s were pretty intermittently spaced (there are still some folk who are not back in their homes even yet) and then getting a 3 month job where I had to start at 6-ooam so I had to be up at 4-ooam every morning. They were long days and as like as not knock orf time was 12 hours later. That was driving a 25 ton roller for the local shire repairing flood damaged roads. I was bloody tired when I got home I assure you. I’ll knock another one together soon I suppose.
I know this is not the forum to talk ‘shop’ in but I have just got home after an extremely gruelling SES meeting... training session... and I really can’t be buggared going all the way up there and logging in again to tell you in another box that the General Chat box simply disappears out of ‘The Shed’ for absolutely no good reason at all and it never comes back very often. Gen. Chat is AWOL most of the time. Court marshal General Chat. So I put a link for it in the bottom box, what is it orf hand now... oh yeah, ‘Remember when’. Not meaning to usurp your position of whatever you call blokes who fix stuff like that, but it just seemed an easy thing to do so others who were in the know that it was there at least could flick up Gen Chat.
You don’t have to have permission to read Heathers post, as you have the rank to do that anyway.
I hope things are well for you...
