The Rudimentary Revolution Of MY Life

Post by DinkyDi » Mon Jun 18, 2012 4:34 pm

From bad to worse to worse to worse
To worse to worse to worse,
Complied, complied, complied, complied,
Complied into this curse,
From one to two to three to four
To five to six and seven,
Intrusions of this magnitude
Were not a written given.

From smile to lie to lie to lie
To lie to lie to lie,
Advised, advised, advised, advised,
Advised so I’d comply,
To sign this, sign that, sign this,
Sign that, sign this, sign that, sign;
Coaxed in by their trickery
To sign upon the line.

From pledge to sham to sham to sham,
To sham to sham to sham,
Deceived, deceived, deceived, deceived,
Deceived that which I am,
A dolt, or deft, a dolt, or deft
A dolt, or deft, at fault,
Shan’t be me this time around
Yet still the same result.

From past to now to now to now
To now to now to now,
Repeats, repeats, repeats, repeats,
Repeats it all somehow,
Trends go round and round and round
And round and round and round,
Misgivings more than fortunes
Of my life seem to rebound.

From bad to worse to worse to worse
To worse to worse to worse,
Increase, increase, increase, increase
Increasingly immerse,
In woeful woes so woeful,
In the woeful throws of woe,
I flounder at the bottom
Only one way left to go.

From here to there to there to there
To there to there to there,
Content, content, content, content,
Content without a care,
While life cycles full circle
In a circular cycle,
So one day all the fortunes,
My misgivings won’t quite kill.

Hey thanks Jim.
I was trying to write something that would almost have the reader singing it by the end. And the whole idea was to try and bring it full circle.
Out of the darkness and into the light as it were.

It looks like the song of the unrepentant resister  Do you want to do like Robert Frost did, take the road less travelled ? ;) :)

I thought at first you might have overdone the repeats but after reading a couple of times it started to work OK for me. A matter of opinion on that score I suppose.

It works for me Adam and I think that is very clever as the repetition of the words does set up a song in your head as you are reading it. By the way I really like the title you have given it as well

Cheers

G'day Neville, Yeah I guess I do mate, I've always liked to try something new unfortunately it always seems to lead back to something done already ;)
This just came from the last 3 places I've lived in, having to move out so the owner could sell the property or the place was being developed. Now where I am the place was put up for sale within the first month of my lease so I've had open houses every week for the last 6 months and they're still going. Then I get some perspective owner knocking on the door asking if I would put all the utilities into her name and when the lease is up not go through a real estate and raise the rent by $100 a week, as well as wanting me to allow 1 of her friends to move in. Obviously wanting to defraud the government and entangle me too. Then my fridge died which was a $1200 expense I didn't for see. And then I was diagnosed with a double hernia with surgery in Sept.
From all of this sprang the first line and on it went from there.

G'day Maureen, Yeah actually the title is one of the parts I like the best.

Thanks for taking a gander
