G'day Dot, my younger brother left us just over twelve months ago, he and I were very close, my Dad, a poet in his own right, said to write a poem, it will help the grieving he said, I have pondered for this last year but still not put pen to paper...(or finger to keyboard!)...I do know excatly what you are saying, polish or no polish, it says what you want to say..... Thanks Dot.........I will do it when the time is right as well!.. 8-)

Thank you Dennis.

I know how you feel Manny - I was actually on the ferry coming back to Maggie with the ashes and felt excited that Bill was with me, (my family thought I was nuts but that's not unusual) ... part of the healing process I guess. Thanks

Dot

Took me seven years to write about my grandmother. I read it as her ashes were scattered on the beach she walked on as a child. Wasn't easy but I'm sure she would have loved it. :)

Thanks Marty. I wrote it a while ago and have only shared it with a couple of people before now; but you are right it is one that I really wrote for myself. Most of mine probably need work - lots of polishing but I enjoy writing them and I keep trying. I do appreciate the feedback though. That's what so grerat about this site.

Dot you have done yourself & all of us a lovely service, & most certainly have honoured your beloved brother, in the writing of this poem. You will know IF & when you wish to make any changes at all. Well done.
All the best
Glenny

Hi Glenny

Thankyou for your lovely sentiments. I am not sure if I will change or not but as you said I'll probably come back when I'm ready. Sorry for not acknowledging your kind words sooner but have only looked at the website briefly over the past couple of weeks - had real work to do, worse luck. Thanks again

Cheers

Dot
