It's a beautiful scene no matter how many times I read it Ross. It's the only poem I've ever learnt to recite...

Yeah I love it too Heather, I reckon it takes me back more than my own photos do. I reckon Matt said it was inspired by some time he did on Alexandria Station out on the Barkly, I spent some time there as well a few years ago, wiring houses though, not working stock...
I like to bring it back up the front from time to time, it is too good to be let slip away into the archives!

Couldn't agree more.
It got me thinking; I've just received my copies of the book David has been editing for Melbourne books of comp. winning poems from 2012. I also notice he has added a few sort of Editors choice poems as well.
If I was editing one I'd be asking Matt If I could include it as an Editors choice, it's too good not to be out there for people to enjoy.
Cheers Terry

Re: another day
G/day Matt,
The Trout season opened here on Sunday and would you believe it, I somehow done my knee in the day before.
But not to worry I'll go down to Harvey Dam on Wednesday and hobble mooch along a protected bank somewhere
I may have missed the opening mate, but as you say - there's always 'Another Day'.

Hi Matt,
I managed to hobble about and have a few cast, only saw a couple of rises but managed to get a really nice Rainbow.
We put the billy on after that and sat around chatting to a few mates, while enjoying the company and the views.
