TENNIS ANYONE?
The tennis season’s in full swing, I’m glued to the TV
watching the world’s best, and it’s all for free.
There’s a few short matches but, numerous long games,
some even longer than pronouncing players’ names.
There’s the “Ovas” and the “Ovics” led by many syllables
and hyphenated names of various individuals,
an alphabetical nightmare, commentators surely dread,
they must love plain Williams to speak about instead.
The little Aussie battler, Lleyton’s yet there scrapping,
surprised a few in Brissie when he caught big Roger napping.
Young Bernard too, is hitting form or so it seems,
better when his dad’s not taking matters to extremes.
Samantha though, still carries a massive question mark,
is there any likeness to The Great White Shark?
Hopefully she’ll bounce back and climb up on the horse
cause for the last year or so there’s little to endorse.
The Open’s just about to start, the big guns have all landed,
the Joker, Andy and Rafa, can’t take these guys for granted,
then there is Serena and the shriekers and the grunters,
don’t think there’s much joy in the Ladies for the punters,
Serena looks as if she has to fall over to lose,
daylight may be second if I am one to choose.
A lot of late night viewing in the two next weeks ahead
with many a long rally to be savoured before bed.

Re: TENNIS ANYONE?
Thanks Neville. I must admit, I play tennis (very socially) so, have a vested interest.
Cheers, Jeff
