CABBAGE NEVER TASTED LIKE THIS

Post by Jeff Thorpe » Mon Jun 30, 2014 4:29 pm

The continuing story of my heart bypass surgery.

CABBAGE NEVER TASTED LIKE THIS

Whilst a fairly staple vegie, cabbage tastes a treat,
with corned beef and white sauce, it makes a meal complete.
Although, recently I’ve sampled a different type of cabbage,
repercussions of which, have turned out rather savage.

Trysts with Ann Gina and Angi O’Gram led me to this CABG,
Coronary Artery Bypass Graft in other words,
reroute four blocked arteries, repair the heart damage
and soon I’d be up there flying with the birds.

Well, the CABG was successful, the arteries all grafted,
good to know Ann Gina has been shafted.
The body’s a bit different though, chest and leg incised,
long lasting memento, hard to be disguised.

So far, I’m flying like a turtle but, I’m told this will improve
and sneezing is akin to Armageddon.
Have started out on rehab, the body’s on the move,
legs are feeling not so slack and leaden.

Apetite has changed and stuff I used to like holds no attraction,
coffee, tea and breakfast cereal, give no satisfaction.
The cherished glass of wine or two at night just doesn’t rate
while pies and chips and pizza are the devil incarnate.

I’m now a label looker in the supermarket aisles
Seeking out the dreaded salt and fat.
All the nice tasty food fails Heart Foundation’s trials
thus, healthy eating has much to combat.

Folks, if you find cabbage part of your main course,
let’s hope that it’s the one with beef and sauce,
believe me, its acronym is surely one to shun
as it dished up is certainly no fun.

Hope you're feeling better Jeff and I love cabbage with or without corned beef.

G'day Waz

I'm coming along nicely thanks. Stick to the corned beef for your cabbage mate.

Regards, Jeff
