THE BIRTH OF A POEM

Post by Cropduster » Sat Feb 21, 2015 3:30 pm

THE BIRTH OF A POEM

It started with a simple word
A magic word at that
Attracting hosts of other words
Together well they sat
It grew in size, it grew in length
In rhythm and in rhyme
It grew into a verse or two
Within a space of time
And now its done, a finished work
For all the world to see
To warm the heart, to stir the soul
A piece of poetry

Some wise person has said " Poems are made from words, not ideas ".

Bugger
But sometimes when it’s said and done
one thinks “Well hell! Can this be fun?
To sit and ponder; scratch one’s head
as through the verses one is lead
to find out after longish time
one simply can not find a rhyme.
Bugger!

Thanks everyone.

All in all a short poem that is probably more suited as a children's poem

:D
