THE TRADIE'S MATE
I am not a tradie, I'm what's called a tradie's mate
My job's to carry 'round the tools, and never to be late
I have to know the lingo, all the names of all the tools
I tradie's mate must never make his boss look like a fool.
A 'whasit' is quite diff'rent to a 'thingy', that's the truth
Neither is a 'Whatsy' a 'Wadjamacallit' - struth,
if you ever got them muddled up, that surely would spell trouble,
It might call for drastic action with a big 'thing-a-me-bubble'
If the boss requires a 'thingo', well that's going to be a shame
Cause he lent it with the 'whosit' yesterday to 'what's-his-name'
And the 'Doovy's' a bit dodgy since he dropped it in the drink
But the 'thingummy' might do the job, if it's not on the blink.
It took a while to learn the names, but now I have the knack,
Please excuse me, I'm off to 'what's-his-names' to get the 'whosit' back.
