A UNIVERSAL THEORY
A UNIVERSAL THEORY
The chemical cocktail combining to make
All life on this planet, there is no mistake
the carbon and nitrogen and H2O
are balanced the same; in the same ratio
as all of the stars right across the expanse
of this universe as it grows and expands.
So rather than thinking that we're set apart
It is clear from the get-go, from the very start,
we're made from the matter existing through space
which simply combined to make life on this place.
'Simply' perhaps not the right word to use
to explain how these chemicals happed to fuse,
to grow and evolve ,the Darwinian plan
To fin'lly arrive at a creature called 'Man'.
But rather than thinking that we are alone,
a concept to which I have come to atone -
We each are at one with our whole universe,
the reason it seems for creating this verse.

Re: A UNIVERSAL THEORY
Trouble with the closed materialist universe is that it leaves us in the position that there is no more moral dimension in shooting people than in treading on an ant.

Re: A UNIVERSAL THEORY
I am not sure how you reach that conclusion, Neville.
I may not subscribe to religious beliefs, preferring to believe there are logical scientific answers to life's mysteries that are yet to be found.
I don't try to dissuade people from their beliefs, and a couple of my closest friends and colleagues are ministers of their respective churches.
I certainly have strong views on moral integrity, so I don't hold that believer's of God have a monopoly on virtue and morality.

Really ?Cropduster wrote:I am not sure how you reach that conclusion, Neville.
How does the personal arise from the impersonal. Just something I ponder.
Have to agree with that.Cropduster wrote: I don't hold that believer's of God have a monopoly on virtue and morality
