MA'S CHICKEN SOUP

I hear ya been poorly, all bent in a stoop.
Thought I'd pop around with me Ma's chicken soup.
Its great if your bunged up and can't even poop.
One spoonful, me lad,
or two if it's bad,
those poops will be flying the coop.

I learned you've been sickly, a case of the mumps.
Your throat is on fire, all swollen with lumps.
Don't take doc's elixir, that's strictly for chumps.
Me Ma's chicken brew
will see you pull through.
Drink this, you'll be coming up trumps.

By Jeez, you look lousy, all sweaty and pale.
I swear that your ticker is starting to fail.
Oh, spare me the story, don't need your sad tale.
Me Ma's chicken stock
will fix up your clock.
You'll tick like the heart of a whale.

Don't come a calling, my tum's a bit queer.
I don't smell too good, there's a pong in the air.
I can't move too far from the potty, I fear.
Me Ma's chicken broth
has surely enough
giv'n me a bad case of diarrhoea.

I still recall preparing for a spelling test at school by reciting over and over ad nauseum 'D-I-A Double R -H - O - E - A'

It is the ONE word I will never forget how to spell
